The Pizza Peel

This portfolio piece showcases a pizza peel that was commissioned with a blend of maple and cherry wood. The creative process began by joining these woods together, ensuring their bond was as strong as the flavors they would later serve.

Afterward, the wood was planed, creating a flat canvas ready for crafting. Using Rhinoceros 6, a 3D modeling software, the design template was then etched onto the wood surface using a laser.

Then using a jigsaw, excess material was removed, shaping the peel closer to its final form. Careful sanding brought it to the laser-etched lines, while a belt sander was employed to craft the perfect angle for pizza maneuvering.

To finish it off, a routing table rounded the edges. The peel was then subjected to meticulous sanding for a smooth, professional finish before being sealed with food-grade mineral oil, ensuring it was safe and ready for any food interactions.

Take a minute to write an introduction that is short, sweet, and to the point.
