Tiling Systems
From Single to System
Tiling Systems was a project that made us think about individual vs. systems, how the single fits into a larger system, and how these pattern arrays suggest things like movement or pulse. This project really made us think more about systems thinking from a more theory-based standpoint.
we explored paper and foam modeling and the skills of molding, casting, and 3D modeling through this project.
We moved into understanding how these single parts could look like in the 3D space giving a bit of depth to the project and seeing how they come together in a larger system. They were also modeled in CAD to 3D-Print in order to explore mold making and plaster casting.
